Mountain Terrain

Where were you when I painted the background
A mountain terrain
In life and full of life. the spoils of breathing
Your air is the same as mine
But the colours of each and every spirit
Are different in the soul

I cling to my youth
As the rest of the world speaks of danger
War, violence, school shootings
A man that just wants to kill for no reason...
Anywhere you go, anything you do
Is unhealthy, is a sign you were born.

The commercials tell you not to smoke
By showing graphic images of people dying
By there own choice, traumatize the kids
By showing these graphic images
In the middle of the day...

Meanwhile you can't legally smoke a plant
That grows here on mother earth
And has help so many sick patients
Feel better and even help cure...
What the dying have been feeling
Since they were diagnosed

In life and full of life. the spoils of breathing
Your air is the same as mine
But the colours of each and every spirit
Are different in the soul

You walk across the soil and it remembers
You were here before
You enter the room silently and by the time
You reach the corridor
You can hear the grandfather clock chime
As the midnight rises
It's clear to sleep and not to dwell...
Upon what always seems
So much larger at night

And as the eyes come down to a close
I lay beside my one and only
To find peace in the sound of a train
And her heart beating slowly.
Next to mine, in the perfect peace.

Where were you when I painted the background
A mountain terrain?
